Call to Me

This week has been very interesting in the world of parenthood. Little b came down with a cough last Wednesday. Nothing big…just a little dry cough here and there. Thursday morning she woke up with her right eye glued together. I called the doctor to ask if it may be pink eye, but the nurse said it was probably just a cold in her eye. She called in some drops just in case. We met my friend for lunch later that day and as I was sitting there I started to feel a little funny. (I am nursing and woke up that morning with a sore breast. I’ve had that before but it gradually would go away.) When we got home I felt very strange. Almost fever like. I took my temperature and it was normal. I went on to pick up B from school. As I was sitting in the car rider line I definitely felt feverish and my breast was getting more sore. I called my sister who has had mastitis before and she said it sounded like that’s what I had. I called my doctor and they called me in something. My sweet husband came on home from work and I went to bed. Let me tell you, mastitis feels like you have the flu. I started to feel better 48 hrs later…thankfully!! Our Labor Day weekend was shot bc mommy was sick.

Tuesday morning B woke up with a fever (no other symptoms) and kept that until Wednesday night. In the meantime, Little b threw up 4 times Tuesday night. I was scared to let her sleep in her bed so I put her in her chair. I was exhausted Wednesday. I told The hubs I look like the Walking Dead. All the while The Lord reminded me, “Call to me all who are weary and I will give you rest.” I’m calling Lord! :)

Thursday I took B and little b to the doctor. She had her 6 month checkup with 4 shots :( She’s in the 70th percentile for height and 25th for weight. B got checked out too and all looked ok. Now I’m fighting the cold I believe little b had. I’m ready for sickness to go away so much fun can be had…and my house to get cleaned back up. haha
